Welcome

On behalf of the European Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society and the European College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, I would like to extend to you a warm invitation to the 16th annual European Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Congress, in Dublin, Ireland.

The congress will take place place from the 22nd – 24th June 2017, and promises to offer a fantastic programme. The main theme of the congress is “A Breath of Fresh Air ...All Things Respiratory”. Parallel streams for veterinarians (refresher and advanced) and veterinary nurses will offer exciting and up to date knowledge on a large range of respiratory related topics including dealing with the dyspnoeic patient, respiratory disorders such as PTE and ARDS, deciphering blood gases, management of the challenging ventilator patient, and much more. Other emergency and critical care topics will also be included. Workshops/labs will provide a practical approach to these respiratory patients and other emergency and critical care patients. Poster and abstract sessions will give you a taste of some of the most current research.

Along with obtaining new knowledge from highly regarded speakers, the congress will offer you the opportunity to spend time in the exhibition hall, make new friends, network, socialize with colleagues, and enjoy the wonders of Ireland.

The congress is to be held in Dublin, at University College Dublin, which boasts excellent modern facilities in amongst a tranquil green setting. Much like the theme of the congress, the city of Dublin is a breath of fresh air, a truly unique capital that’s steeped in tradition yet is young at heart. Ireland is well known for its stunning scenery and its warm and welcoming people.

I am confident you will not only come away from the 2017 EVECC Congress with new and exciting knowledge, but also feeling refreshed and energized from your time in Ireland.

I hope to see you in Dublin.
