Welcome

It is an honour and a pleasure to extend to you, on behalf of the European Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society and the European College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, a warm invitation to the 19th annual European Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Congress from 4-6 June 2020 in Ghent, Belgium.

Ghent is widely acknowledged as one of Europe’s best hidden secrets. A combination of the history offered by Bruges and the vibrant livelihood of Antwerp, and conveniently located within a couple of hours of other tourist hotspots such as Brussels and Rotterdam.

Ghent has a population of barely 250,000, yet offers a home to people from over 150 different countries and therefore is a true melting pot in the centre of Europe. Ghent has many squares with typical Belgian pubs, hundreds of restaurants offering the best food of any corner of the world, as well as plenty of museums, historical buildings and even boat trips whilst all of these remain within walking distance in the historic, compact city centre. So when planning to come to congress, consider spending some extra days within this lovely city, we are sure you won’t regret your stay!

On behalf of the Local Organising Committee, the European Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society and the European College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, I would love to invite you to the 19th annual European Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Congress in Ghent, Belgium.

The theme of EVECC 2020 will be “Go With The Flow”, and will have congress days focusing on the flow of blood, air and urine.

These themes will be discussed in parallel streams for veterinarians oriented towards emergency and critical care (advanced), general practitioners seeking applicable information for their clinics (refresher) and a stream focused on veterinary nurses.  Moreover, during the congress several wet- and drylabs will be organized. All of this with the common aim to provide up to date knowledge and practical training in emergency and critical care to the veterinary profession.

The Local Organising Committee in close collaboration with EVECCS look forward to welcoming you in Ghent for EVECCS 2020!
