On behalf of the European Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society and the European College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, I have the privilege and honour to invite you to the 15th annual European Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Congress in Ljubljana, Slovenia taking place in June, 2016.
The Congress will be held in the Grand Hotel Union, a luxurious 4-star hotel boasting a premier location in the very heart of Ljubljana, only steps away from the Old Town and less than 30 minutes from the international airport.
Veterinary emergency and critical care is developing at a rapid pace, having already established a solid foundation in clinical medicine in Europe. By keeping abreast of the best practices in emergency and critical care, we can offer the best possible care for our patients and give them the best chances for survival and recovery. The annual EVECC Congress represents an unmatched opportunity for everyone interested in veterinary emergency and critical care to gain more knowledge, meet with world-renowned specialists, socialize with colleagues, make new friends, and, of course, visit new countries.
Trauma – What have we learned in the last decade?
The main theme of the EVECC 2016 Congress is “Trauma – What have we learned in the last decade?” This interesting and diverse issue is commonly encountered in urban and rural areas around the world, and represents a unique challenge for the emergency veterinarian, surgeon, criticalist and veterinary nurse. The pre-congress day will focus on “Endocrine disorders in your ER”, and cover disorders that can prove to be frustrating even for experienced emergency doctors. The EVECC 2016 Congress promises to highlight these challenging topics that many times require a multidisciplinary approach. Parallel scientific sessions for veterinarians (refresher and advanced) and nurses, as well as veterinary management topics, workshops and poster sessions will be presented by distinguished speakers from Europe and the United States. The speakers will address new developments and the latest achievements in clinical medicine and scientific knowledge applicable to the practicing veterinarian.
We will do our best to make you feel welcome in the city of Ljubljana, and enjoy our diverse educational programme and unique social events surrounded by the beauty of Slovenia and kindness of Slovenian people… enough, at least, to make your trip worthwhile and leave you with a desire for more!
I sincerely hope to see you all in Ljubljana in June 2016!
