Fiona Wilson

Fiona qualified in 2014 from Myerscough College in Preston, UK with a foundation degree in veterinary nursing, she trained primarily in general practice and then worked for a further year in GP once qualified.
Fiona moved into GP OOH for a number of years before moving to referral in late 2018. Fiona has been at Edinburgh University Hospital for Small Animals, working in the ICU since May 2020, where she started at the beginning of COVID lock down. Since then Fiona has completed and certified as a VTS ECC, she enjoys training and teaching other nurses in her department, with the hope more will also decide to undertake their VTS.
Favourite parts of Fiona’s job include blood gas and acid base disorders as well as the management and nursing of coma and ventilated patients. Fiona also has a particular interest in inflammatory brain disease, mainly due to her chihuahua who had been under the hospital’s neurology department for a number of years.
During free time, Fiona can mostly be found with her chihuahua and whippet, either hiking, camping, at the beach or at the pub!
