Natasha Summerfield
Natasha discovered her passion for emergency and critical care medicine while working in the ECC unit at the Royal Veterinary College in the UK. In 2014, she moved to Zurich, Switzerland, to join the Zurich University Animal Hospital, where she held a range of roles including contributing to the development of the ICU and leading the Emergency Department.
She is currently Deputy Head Nurse of the ICU and IMC, where she is responsible for training, mentoring, and supporting a team of approximately 20 nurses.
In 2018, Natasha gain her qualification as a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Emergency and Critical Care (VTS-ECC). In 2022, she helped launch the Swiss Emergency Veterinary Nursing certification. She currently serves on the EVECCS Scientific Board and is Nurse Stream Lead.
Natasha is passionate about advancing veterinary nursing standards and improving patient care through structured education and professional development.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, swimming in the lake, hiking, snowboarding, and being outdoors.
