Heidi Saarenkari

Heidi graduated from the University of Helsinki, Finland, in 2008. After graduation she worked both mixed practice and small animal practice, always finding emergency practice the most rewarding. She completed a rotating internship at Massey University, New Zealand, in 2016, followed by an emergency and critical care internship at Murdoch University, Perth, Western Australia.

Subsequently she completed an ECC residency training program at Murdoch University and has been a diplomate of the American college of veterinary emergency and critical care since 2022.

She has been working as a lecturer in emergency and critical care at Utrecht University, The Netherlands, since early 2022 and truly enjoys being back in Europe. My professional interests include PoCUS, neurological emergencies and patient well-being, but she enjoys all areas of emergency and critical care.
